Gloucester, Virginia Veterinary Hospital“X” Marks The Spot

Not every canine that is vomiting is suffering from mild indigestion. Puppies as well as older dogs can find themselves in a predicament when they decide to chew on the wrong “toy”.

When Halie came into our clinic because she was vomiting, a full CBC/chemistry was performed to rule-out any metabolic abnormalities. No abnormalities were noted that could account for Halie’s uncomfortable gastro-intestinal problems, therefore, Dr. Diane Porter decided to pursue an x-ray.

Luckily Halie was very obliging and decided to mark the ingested foreign body quite clearly.

“X” marked the spot on her x-ray! A tile marker was identified by the owners. Endoscopic retrieval was attempted, followed by a successful surgery, and then Halie was sent home for a healthy recovery.
AND a more restricted diet!
